Company Announcement: March 18, 2020
To assist parents who are currently coping with working from home, while also carrying the job of parenting bored children, FitIn has created a live-stream to engage kids during office hours, called FitIn Live Kids.
This Covid-19 emergency reminds me a little of camping.
When you’re camping, you largely take care of your own stuff, but if you’re sharing a campsite with friends, you also need to make sure they’re taken care of.
Why? Because everyone has fewer resources handy, and we need to work together with pooled resources to make sure the experience is pleasant-enough for as many of us as possible.
Well, FitIn is stepping up and taking on the job of keeping the kids occupied for our friends and neighbours while they get THEIR work done. After all, everyone needs to do their jobs to help keep the country and economy running under these unusual circumstances. Your local fitness instructors and other local businesses could help you do exactly that.
As a local community of fitness professionals and more, one of OUR best talents is that we can creatively keep people moving (even within their homes), engaged, and connected. So we’re going to support the rest of the campsite get their tasks accomplished by focusing OUR attention on the little ones (who WILL – eventually – get bored of even Netflix).
Our goal is to keep it local, so that you’re still interacting with your local businesses and community. I’ve heard MANY calls for supporting neighborhood businesses over the last few days, and to find new ways to shop local during this time, so I made sure to build that concept into FitIn Live. Why? Because we all want our communities intact for ‘afterwards’… and because we care about supporting each other.
I would personally LOVE if communities worked together to make this happen, finding the right combination of content providers, with the live feed being ‘staffed’ by other community members. By reacting quickly, we’re able to help provide income to a whole segment of the gig economy: fitness and wellness instructors (et al), PLUS add new jobs. I call on all the local neighbourhood shops to find a way to engage kids and continue to interact with your customers in isolation.
If you want to spearhead a FitIn Live Neighbourhood group, please reach out to Catherine at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are keeping FitIn Live VERY low-cost so anyone worrying about finances right now can also participate. We are prepared to work with low-income neighbourhoods to provide completely free access (please direct any related questions to Catherine Chan @ email@example.com).
If you have any questions regarding the upcoming FitIn Live (adults), FitIn Live Neighbourhoods or FitIn Live MentalHealth, please direct them to Catherine at firstname.lastname@example.org.
