Hi! My name’s Rowen. I am the owner of Body Positivity Movement. We focus on holistic health, from the inside out. It is about health, not weight loss! My goal is to be radically inclusive, meaning all people are welcome.
Tell us a bit about the classes you teach?
I teach the bootcamp 1.0 class and I also run self-esteem classes for young girls called the “Girls’ Empowerment Movement”. The bootcamp 1.0 is special for me, because it was only 3 years ago that I started more intensely into my health journey. I started at a bootcamp, and ended up loving it, but I was quite intimidated and out of shape at first. There was no beginner type class. So I have created a space for people to begin, or restart, or be able to better handle having injuries that prevent higher impact.
The GEMS group is an important one because I want to provide a safe space for young girls to learn how to be more confident, increase self-esteem, and also get some movement in their day.
What inspires you on a daily basis?
When I see my clients evolve and change and surprise themselves as they try a new challenge. I love knowing that I am building a community of better people. That I provide a space for people to feel more comfortable, less anxious about doing something good for themselves.
What kind of music is your favourite to work out to?
I like it loud! It depends on my mood, but I am into heavier rock some days, and others some deep bass-y techno.

My catchphrase for my business and my life is: Love Yourself- Love the World!
What’s your favourite time of day to work out and why?
I like working out in the early morning, before I can wake up and think of an excuse not to! It’s a great way to start the day, and leaves time in the evening to do other things, or just relax.
What’s your Instructor superpower?
I am good at observing people and empowering them in the spots they are struggling with, whether it is a certain exercise, form, or just motivating them to just get there!
